Compulsory Intership
Every student who is approaching the end of their studies is required to complete the compulsory professional internship specified in their curriculum. A professional internship can help you with your future career, while your mentor can provide you with valuable experience and knowledge that you can gain “in the field”!
Choose consciously and build the foundation for your future!
What do you need to know?
You should register the Internship course in the semester recommended by your curriculum. During the semester in which you enrol in the course, you must complete the required number of hours and take care of all the necessary administrative procedures.
You are entitled to be paid! If you complete a longer and more substantial internship at a company or other organisation, you should not work for free. (For compulsory internships lasting less than 6 weeks, the employer is not required to provide remuneration.)
If you change your mind, you can leave the company at any time by mutual agreement. If the position or tasks assigned to you are not related to your field of study, please contact us and ask for our assistance: https://metropolitan.hu/en/mybrand-es-trening-kozpont-karriercentrum-hallgatoi-kerdes-urlap
If you have not found an internship placement or job, sign up for Job Search and Career Counselling at the Career Centre! You can book a counselling session through METUJOBS, where you can also browse numerous job opportunities. Register and complete your profile so that the platform can find the job offers that best match your interests and qualifications. https://metujobs.metropolitan.hu
Don't forget about the necessary agreement! You can find information about the acceptable types of agreements and available administrative options on this page.
A professional internship is real workplace experience. During your internship, you are expected to comply with the terms and conditions set out in your contract or agreement, just as you would in a regular workplace. The mentor or contact person appointed by the company will support you in your work and will be the person you report to regarding your activities throughout the internship.
