What if your next idea could become the beginning of your future career? Budapest Metropolitan University (METU) invites ambitious students, young professionals, and aspiring entrepreneurs from around the world to join an exclusive international Summer School experience in the heart of Europe. The Creative Startup Summer School is a super intensive 7 day programme designed for participants who want to discover how innovative ideas are transformed into real business concepts. In an inspiring international environment, creativity meets entrepreneurship through interactive workshops, teamwork, mentoring sessions, and real startup case studies.

This is not a traditional classroom based summer course.

Participants work on developing their own startup projects step by step while exploring startup logic, design thinking, business strategy, branding, communication, and modern entrepreneurial methodologies. The programme combines theory with practical experience, allowing students to immediately apply their knowledge through workshops and group projects. Beyond the academic experience, participants also gain real world inspiration through company visits, guest talks, and professional programmes in Budapest while building international connections with participants from around the world. The programme helps participants strengthen highly valued future oriented skills including entrepreneurial thinking, creative problem solving, teamwork, leadership, strategic thinking, and professional communication.

Programme Objectives

The main objectives of the programme are to:

1. develop entrepreneurial and creative thinking skills
2. introduce startup logic and design thinking methodologies
3. build business planning and strategic skills
4. improve business presentation and communication competencies
5. support portfolio creation and professional self representation

The programme combines lectures, workshops, mentoring, teamwork, professional presentations, and company visits, creating an exciting and dynamic

learning experience.

After succesful completion, participants receive:

1. an adult education certificate of completion issuded by METU
2. a detailed supplement outlining the topics covered, as well as the competencies and knowledge acquired during the programme

This programme is organised by Budapest Metropolitan University within the framework of adult education as a non-credit training programme. Participation in the programme does not establish student status at Budapest Metropolitan University and does not result in the award of ECTS credits, a degree, diploma, professional qualification or state-recognised qualification. Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive a certificate of completion issued within the framework of adult education.

Who should apply?

The programme welcomes BA and MA students, young professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, and creative minds from different academic and professional backgrounds who are interested in innovation, startups, and business development. B2 english knowledge is required. Accepted students can apply for an appropriate visa, short term visa (category C) is acceptable via the Hungarian embassy or consulate by providing the appropriate application from and an official invitation letter, which will be offered by METU after acceptance.

Program fee:

- in twin room: 1450 EUR/ person

- in a single room: 1600 EUR/ person

Bank charges, transfer fees and currency conversion costs are borne by the participant.

The program fee is fully refundable in case of visa rejection.

Programme includes

1. 7 days - 60 hours intensive programme, with all day classes from 9:00 am – 19:00 pm
2. lunch on programme days - accommodation with breakfast
3. public transportaion pass for the duration of the programme in Budapest
4. entrance fees for the organised programmes Airport Transportations, flight tickets, health care insurance, and meals at the weekend are not included.

International participants must have insurance, medical and accident insurance at least, when studying in Hungary, according to the policy of Hungary’s Ministry of Education. An insurance covering the students’ complete stay in Hungary must be provided upon registration.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will be able to:

1. identify real world problems and transform them into business opportunities
2. design a creative startup concept using design thinking methods
3. develop a basic business plan and business model
4. create a coherent startup portfolio
5. present their project professionally in a business pitch
6. communicate ideas clearly to professional and non professional audiences

Assessment and Completion Requirements

Requirements for successful completion:

1. active participation in workshops
2. teamwork and project contribution
3. submission of a startup portfolio
4. final team presentation (pitch)
