2026-04-27

Budapest Metropolitan University is proud to share that Kornélia Szerdahelyi and Eszter Kotroczó, recent graduates of the Communication and Media Studies MA programme, have won the Hungarian round of the prestigious Next Generation PR World Cup.
Organised by the Hungarian Public Relations Association, in cooperation with McDonald’s, the competition brings together some of the most promising young communication professionals to solve real-life industry challenges.

With this outstanding achievement, Kornélia and Eszter have qualified for the international final, where they will represent Hungary and METU on the global stage, showcasing their strategic thinking, creativity and professional expertise.
The challenge was intense: they received the brief at 8:00 a.m. and presented their complete campaign by 5:00 p.m. the same day. According to the winning team, METU’s practice-oriented education helped them approach the task with confidence and respond effectively under pressure.
They also highlighted the role of their lecturers and mentors, whose support, professional guidance and emphasis on clear, persuasive communication contributed greatly to their success.

For Kornélia and Eszter, the competition was not only a professional milestone, but also a personal achievement. It confirmed that the knowledge and experience gained during their studies and professional work can be successfully applied in a real competitive environment.
Looking ahead to the international final, they are excited to gain new professional experience, build international connections and represent both Hungary and
METU in a highly competitive global field.

Their advice to current METU students is simple:
“Go for it. Taking part in a competition like this gives you valuable experience, helps you meet inspiring people and allows you to grow both professionally and as a team.”
Congratulations to Kornélia and Eszter on this remarkable achievement. We are proud to see METU talent succeeding on the international stage.
